Welcome to my ePortfolio! This website is a way for me to document my journey and share relevant information as I work to obtain a Masters of Health Studies degree at Athabasca University.
As an experienced healthcare professional who transitioned into a leadership role in 2020, I am acutely aware the challenges patients, front line healthcare workers, and healthcare organizations have faced over the past few years. My goal in completing a Masters of Health Studies is to strengthen my theoretical understanding and update my skills so that I can best support health care workers moving through and beyond the challenges the past few years have presented.    If you’d like to learn more about me, browse through the site. Tricks of the Trade
Motivational Interviewing
Highly competent in the use of Motivational Interviewing to support Health Behavior Change.  Experience includes completion of Level 1 and Level 2 Motivational Interviewing Workshops, regular application of the skill throughout 10+ years of client counseling and presenting on this subject for several professional groups and organizations.
Public Speaking
Toastmaster trained, skilled presenter and experienced speaker in a variety of settings ranging from small to large groups.  Recipient of several awards for public speaking.  Presentation style centers around humor, visuals and story-telling.
Leadership skills
Experienced in chairing a range of committees and groups.  Completed a 12 week leadership course through workplace.  Founder of local running group. Strives to lead with kindness, empathy and empowerment.
